Who we are

We are ALTA Education Limited and our website address is: https://alta-education.com. We are committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring transparency in how we collect, store, and use it, in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

When sharing videos and images for upload to the website, try to avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). It is possible, though unlikely, that visitors to the website can download and extract location data from such images. We may store videos, such as recordings of classroom lessons, for educational and training purposes. These videos are securely held in a Google Drive, with access restricted to authorised subscribers only. Links to the videos may be provided through the website, but all media is securely stored and is not accessible to the general public.

We ensure that all data stored in Google Drive adheres to UK GDPR requirements for data security and confidentiality. Videos will not be shared with third parties unless explicit consent is provided, and access will only be granted for educational and professional development purposes.

Security and Data Protection

We take your privacy and data security seriously. All personal data, including media such as videos, is stored in compliance with the UK GDPR and subject to stringent security measures. This includes the use of encryption, secure authentication, and restricted access controls. Only authorised personnel and subscribers with legitimate interests are granted access. We continually review and update our security protocols to ensure that your data remains secure.

In the event of a data breach, we are obligated to notify the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) within 72 hours and inform affected individuals if the breach poses a risk to their privacy.

Purpose and Lawful Basis for Processing Data

The videos and other personal data we collect are processed for the legitimate interests of enhancing educational training and professional development. All media stored on our platform is used strictly for these purposes and will not be shared with any third parties without your explicit consent. We ensure that our data collection and processing practices are lawful, transparent, and in line with the rights afforded to you under the UK GDPR.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We do not share your data with any third parties unless required to by law or with your explicit consent. Any media stored for training purposes is only accessible to subscribers via secure logins and is not shared externally.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
